Traditional Tank Water Heaters
A storage water heater holds heated water in a tank for use when needed. When choosing one, both tank capacity and the amount of hot water it can deliver during a busy hour are important.
If your household regularly runs out of hot water, discuss your usage patterns before choosing another unit of the same size.
Tankless Water Heaters
Tankless systems heat water as it flows through the unit instead of keeping a tank of water hot. They can provide continuous hot water within their heating capacity, but they still have limits on how much they can deliver at once.
That makes proper sizing important. Multiple showers and appliances running simultaneously may require more hot water than a particular unit can supply.
Thinking about switching? Ask about installation requirements, expected performance, and the total cost of the conversion before deciding.

What would the repair involve?

Has the system needed repeated repairs?

Does its current capacity meet the household’s needs?

How does the repair cost compare with replacement?
